Specimen 1

Known from a single abraded example, the thick cusp and serrate (?cuspleted) shoulders do not conform with the Squatina "hassei" design-envelope. This specimen might represent Cretorectolobus, but the lack of a good nutrient groove suggests otherwise. Interestingly, Case & Cappetta (1997: 135) did not include Squatina in the Maastrichtian of Texas; they attributed teeth of a general angel shark-like design to Cretorectolobus.

Specimen 2

I originally thought this to be a variation of the Cretorectolobus tooth-design (long uvula and complete nutrient groove) but lacking cuspleted shoulders. Siverson (pers com 2007) rejected this determination and suggested a possible sclerorhynchid. Manning (pers com 2007) considered the well differentiated lobes as ontogenetic in nature and suggested a juvenile Squatina tooth. With a singular (damaged) specimen, it could only be included as tooth-design of undetermined origin.

Specimen 3

Lacking roots and a having a well worn crown, there is no means of identifying this tooth with certainty. With that said, the crown design is very similar to Brachaelurus as erected by Cappetta & Case (1975: 12) and also to the crown-design included by Welton & Farish (1993: 81) as Chiloscyllium greeni (CAPPETTA 1973). It is most likely an orectolobid although little root detail is available to support that supposition.

Specimen 4

These small smooth crowns (none found with a usable root) compare well with Ginglymostoma botmaense NOUBHANI & CAPPETTA 1997; however, lacking root detail, a firm identification cannot be made. The Wayne Co site (Late Cretaceous, NC) also produces a larger version of this crown-design with less-well demarked cusplets. One of these specimens (with good roots) has been included on the Plicatoscylium page (relatively similar crown-designs were appearing with and without plications).

Specimen 5

The very prominent main cusp, broad lower crown face and lateral shape of the cusp doesn't allow this crown-design to compare well with any of the others at the Wayne County site. Lacking a root, it can only be said to be reminiscent of examples of Pseudoginglymostoma as provided in Noubhani & Cappetta (1997: plate 18)
