The Copper Shark, Carcharhinus brachyurus (Gunther, 1870)
is the most common find in the Pungo River formation.
This shark no longer lives in the Atlantic Ocean.
Both upper and lower teeth have wide roots,
broad enamel shoulders, and fairly narrow, curved
cusps. They have fine serrations.
