The Blacktip Shark, Carcharhinus limbatus is an uncommon find in the Pungo River formation. The teeth are typically small to moderate sized. The teeth have narrow, erect cusps with very little inclination even in posterio-lateral teeth. The teeth are taller (from root bottom to tip) than they are wide (root lobe to root lobe). They have fine serrations which are somewhat coarser on the shoulders of the upper teeth. Lower teeth have very fine serrations and are prominently curved inward (lingually).
